My kids are so excited that they can finally put away their snowboards and pull out their skateboards! It has been a long COOOLLLLD winter and we are really enjoying the warmer weather – fingers crossed! I was editing a few shots from last year for our friend Mario at RELM skatepark and I thought in the spirit of SPRINGTIME I would share them!

the new studio!

I am getting sooooo excited for my new studio space! It has been a busy winter of business and marketing work, but spring is upon us and the new carriage house is starting to take shape! My wonderful husband will share a big sunny office with me which opens onto a fantastic studio space so i can keep shooting rain or shine (or SNOW! it has been a loooooong winter!) And look at all that natural light…hooray!

northern lights camera club enjoyed a day with the residents of a local nursing home earlier this month. what a blast! it was such fun getting to know the residents and sharing ideas with all of the members of the club. here are a few samples from this awesome pro-bono event…can’t wait til next year!

november brings cold mornings here in northern wisconsin, and shooting 6 kids in 19 degree weather can be a bit of a challenge! i have to say that these kiddos were troopers! we didn’t get to do as much as i would have liked, but we got some great shots of their big family! the frozen fall landscape was beautiful…a perfect backdrop for a holiday portrait!

i was so excited to have the privilege of photographing an incredible irish-themed wedding over the weekend! the day was filled with tradition…irish kilts, the number eight, jingle bells, and even a lucky leprechaun! i don’t think i have ever experienced a wedding that was more perfectly suited to the personalities of the bride and groom. i hope you enjoy a few images from this festive affair!

i was so blessed that my friend missy let me come out to their farm and photograph her adorable children! we had such a good time finding fun places to pose and the boys were great sports! they didn’t particularly want to snuggle up close to each other, but they played along and their photos turned out great! it was a bummer that we lost light quickly, but we caught some fun shots before it got too dark and had a great time in the process! i am going to steal her beautiful daughter one day soon for a “modeling” session…the camera LOVES her!!!! and those boys will make wonderful men…so polite!

so, i got into this business to do primarily portraits of children (still a fave!). i swore i would never do weddings because they are too stressful, but  i am hooked! it is just magical and exhausting! the details are so amazing and everyone is so happy and full of love. now i have to admit that i am addicted! here are a few shots that you might enjoy.
